We have worked long and hard at trying to work with an American company located in Vermont to design and have made a belt that we can be proud of. We knew the belt first had to be sturdy, easy to adjust and easy to use. With many attempts behind us, we agreed on a design of top grain leather, a thick internal reinforcement and a ratchet to keep it all tight.
We love many of the brands of competition belt on the market, but being a small company that prides ourselves on providing high quality American made products from premium materials we weren't happy with where most belts were made. We stumbled across a leather maker that had an idea and was looking for a company to take the lead in getting it out there. Several designs were tried and sent to shooters, finally we had this product that we are happy to sell.
These belts are 1.5 in. wide and made of top grain American leather front and back. In between the layers is a thick piece of plastic to help keep the rigidity that we need to see on a gun belt that gets worn all day long. A layer of Velcro was added to the backside of it for those that still want an under belt to provide extra strength. We do not necessarily think it is needed, but some say it adds another layer of protection if the screws back out of the ratchet. Finally, knowing the biggest pain of an all day match is the belt loosening up, we added the ratchet strap. This ratchet holds it in place, and even allows you to tighten it as the day goes on if necessary.
In order to properly size you belt, you should find a fabric tape and measure around your waist wearing clothes typical to what you will shoot in. That is the measurement that you want to use for your belt. If you are very close, or right on the cusp call us at 301-707-7972 to discuss your needs.
